I eventually got to Kazham, in no small part thanks to help from my friends in LegendsofChaos. After a week or so of grinding, I made it to level 30, leaving behind a deep seated hatred of Mandragoras. Fuck AoE sleep, fuck it. I left the jungle to complete the summoner quest and to level it.
After a couple of weeks of levelling, I had a gimped level 25 summoner with 3 summons. It would be almost a year before my summoner ever reached 37. After hitting level 25, I decided that I would resume levelling my WHM so I could get my Artifact Armour. I made it to 42.
I decided I was going to 'pimp' my WHM out by buying Erase (800k at this time) and my staves. For the next 2 weeks I was confined to the mines. After 2 weeks, I wanted to fucking KILL someone. The lack of music, the alarm, the gilsellers running rampant through the caves, not to mention the bombs on the lower levels which still aggroed me. I had a few encounters with them, which I managed to live through. Eventually I got together enough money (Around 2million gi) and bought the things I wanted. But I was disillusioned with WHM.
At this point, I first gave life to the idea of becoming a Samurai. Something I wanted to do until I quit the game. After a few weeks of levelling Samurai and its sub-jobs, I relented. I was drawn to Black Mage. A job I had hated and left at level 7 (Yes, my sub-job was gimp as fuck). I decided to give it another try and found myself enjoying it quite a lot, eventually reaching 42.
At this time, Chain of Promathia was released. After eventually getting a copy (I had to import from Canada >_>) I began in my attempts to do Promyvion. At this time my only 'useful' job was White Mage. This was back in Ranger's glory days, when there were 2 strategies. 'Throw more Black Mages at it' and 'Throw more Rangers at it'. Promyvion pick-up parties usually subscribed to the latter option in an attempt to win.
After almost 25 failed attempt (Including a memorable 3 summoner party which wiped. I have no fucking idea how) my RL friend and I blasted through all 3 in about a day. Promyvion had also made me realise I still liked White Mage. From here on began a 4 month journey to level 50.
After quitting the job several times, I managed to reach level 50. After that point, I was a WHM for life. I wasn't particularly happy at that, but it was a love-hate relationship with the job.

For some reason, I decided it was a good idea to start this thing and eventually stopped writing it regularly. Since I quit, there's nothing new to add to this so I guess I might as well tell the old. Probably pretty embellished but hey, it'll be slightly more interesting ;o
The start - LegendsofChaos
About 3 days after I started the game, I joined a linkshell created by members of a forum I posted on a lot back then (www.fflegend.com) and started my 'adventures' in the world of FFXI. I started out as a White Mage, despite originally wanting to be a Dragoon. I started out in Windurst, which I judged to be the best looking of the cities and also more suited for the mage role I had decided to take on. After a week of grinding without much incident, I hit level 10 and was ready to start partying. Having what was, at best. very average gear (MND rings, store-bought DEF gear) I went out to the Maze of Shakrami. An area seemingly forgotten by the players of today, it was great exp and I reached level 15 in about a day within 2 parties. Looking back I may have been part of the last series of players to ever party at the maze during its days as a popular exp location.
Windurstian players have one great advantage over San d'orian and Bastokian players in my opinion. When they start, they have to ride the ferry to reach Valkurm. Many people say that this is a massive hassle, but for me it was a great journey and one of the better parts of the early game. Getting help from two people from my linkshell (Fofanik and Kristial) we traveled through to Mhaura, obtaining the Mhaura subjob quest items along the way. After my trip on the ferry (Which was devoid of pirate activity, which I had kind of hoped would happen to make the trip even more interesting) we reached Selbina.
After the traditional 'noob journey' through Valkurm (I assume I had all the trademark failings of a new White Mage, nothing special but I don't remember a lot of it apart from my hideously underlevelled Black Mage sub-job) I got help from another member of my linkshell in my journey to Jeuno.
After I reached Jeuno I did the usual quests to obtain a chocobo and began to level to 25. Along the way I went with my linkshell to do missions and quests. Together we completed the 2-3 Dragon for me and Hellhawk, farmed for Carbuncle Rubies and much more. Eventually, I got to level 25 and left on the airship for Kazham.

We fucking raped it. Got a Helm, Wyrm Horn and the Cashmere mats. Oox got the Manteel (I thought he would) and atm has it synthed into the cloth, just waiting for a 100 Goldsmith to actually synth the manteel. I was the only WHM to get the title (Felt bad for Nieryo, he was in main ally whole time too and deserved it, but we kinda needed the extra tank in at the end when he went crazy with hate reset moves).
Good job overall by the whole shell.

First, the traditional 'Shit I've gotten since my last update' pics. Thanks to Eleidon I finally managed to get the last 2 organs and got this:
I tried it out on Lightsday and it's hot. Gonna be really useful for Temenos.

And now, the main part:
Eden takes down Absolute Virtue. Rykoshet and Mibond helped out with their Krakens on their DRKs and LP brought out some WHMs and an army of level 1 Corsairs to restore Blood Weapon and we ripped AV a new one.
Congratulations to Eden and to Fairy. Was great to see linkshells working together to kill somthing.
Too bad no sash so a certain SAM would shut the fuck up on BG...
I think LP are going to try JoL again on Saturday (I hope not, I'm on holiday and won't be able to go >_<;;) so we're hoping to be able to test our theory on how we sealed the 2 hours.

I need to update this thing. Eh, no one reads it anyway. Well, lot of shit happened since my last update and I have an assload of pics:
First: We took down Jormungand. No pics of that fight but I WISH I had take a SS of this part of the fight:

Italax is too far away.
A tank got hit and I had the next highest hate, so it decided to turn and flail. I happened to be resting a long way away and it didn't go off :D
I logged at 18% to get some sleep, but we eventually killed it. So good job LP!
Skip forward about a month:
We did the Horn of War KS99. Got an assload of Kreigsbiels, but it was fun.
Thanks to the summer, I can do Dynamis with LP for a while. We were doing Beaudecine for clear (Which I needed) and about halfway through the WHM Body drops. I start freaking out and lot this:

Fuck. -_-. Ah well, grats Nacho.
But, the next Dynamis - Sandy I at least got my first piece of AF
So it's not the best piece of gear in the world, still an ok piece for for fights where Enmity matters.
LP do friday events to do stuff like Ohat or Kurrea. Well, last few weeks in a row I hit an item jackpot:

So, day 5, window 7. LP is camping Aspid again. We're all pretty much half-expecting another fucking NQ pop. So we Sneak/Invis and head out to claim. 10 seconds later I'm screaming down Ventrilo and running back to camp, Aspidochelone with a Red Name right behind me. Flash beat the bots.
Was a damn fun fight. We dealt with the adds and started to SC + MB his ass down. Impulse were watching (We assumed they were getting tips on how to kill him) so we take him down. Hard. And then we see the drop:
I fucking love Mijin Gakure kills.
Truezero instantly tells Greymouser to lot and congratulations all around on now being one of the few people of Fairy with 5/5 Crimson (I think). Bluegres sells him a Cursed Cuirass and we all go off to Sandy to watch this:

Exams suck. Still away from the game currently so not made a lot of progress. Anyway, time to talk about some old news for a while. Namely: Jormungand is a fucking whore.
A few weeks ago, LP decided to try to kill Jormungand. So on the Friday we all marched to the top of the range for the fight. (I spent most of my time raising people who got aggro on the way up >_>). And we were ready to kill the bitch.
We flailed it about 5 times. We'd been making decent progress when we flailed it at about 50%. After that things got a little crazy and we almost wiped at 15%. We made a recovery and started killing again, getting it to 7% before another flail. We flialed it another time trying to recover from that one. Eventually we made a recovery with it back to 30% and were doing good, until another flail.
After that, we called it quits and CFH'd him. All in all, it was damn fun but took 4 hours and 20k exp from almost everyone. Next time we're gonna kick it's fucking ass.
After that I kinda took my long break. Exams, no exp and other shit stopped me playing. Came back a couple of days ago (temporarily) and decided to level my SAM to 40 like I had planned. 1 Kuftal Tunnel party later and:
I am sexy.
SAM is now on Hiatus until I level all my subs and get a Sniper (Should be soon after I get my money from some Behemoth Hides.)

I want to play ToAU so bad now, but I can't unti lmy GCSEs are over. Speaking of which, I should be studying but my head is fucking killing me.
With my lack of expansion goodness and a growing bitterness about meriting WHM until I can try thr new zones, I decided to start levelling SAM again. Anyone who actually had to put up with me levelling to 75 knows I quit WHM a lot. Mainly due to those fucking Flies in CN, lack of Erase, SAM looked really fucking cool, BLM being kinda fun and some old twat blowing up my computer. 4 gig hard-drive my ass.
Well, after selling some Ancient Beastcoins and my Blessed Briault (Why the fuck I had that I will never know.) I could afford an Okote. That thing is the fucking sex. I hit like a truck. A truck with a great katana and a british accent. Upped my damage by about 10-20 per swing and a significant amount on my WSs.

Well, after getting to 37 I've been stuck in CN for ages waiting for invites. I eventually get one of a guy named "Darksephiroth". Fucking seriously, get some damn originality. I'm pissed by now and I'm not in the mood the spend hours in a shitty party led by someone with the imagination of a turnip.
Well, a nice word now. Apart from Aspid being a fucking whore (Thank you maintenances for fucking with his window and making a HQ pop seem like a rare event) I'm having a really good time in my new linkshell. Most of the people there are generally fun to be around and It's nice being able to do endgame stuff again (I loved Phoenixx but the late night thing kinda ruined it for me D:).
At Kirin we had a lot of WHM so I tried to get a SS of us all, but like 5 were afk between pops so I only got a few of us. Looks like one of those happy family pictures >_>

Ok, time to rant. This time, it's about Sea. SE fucked up, big time. The monsters are stupidly and/annoying to pop and when you finally get them to appear, the pop items for the next jailers aren't 100%. Seriously, what kind of bullshit is that?
The loot pools for the Jailers suck too. With the exception of Jailer of Love every Jailer drops a Weapon (100%), a Virtue (Pop item, 50%?) and a Torque (Like 10%-20%). That's it, no money drops, no multiple drops like the Guards. 3 fucking drops, all Rare/EX (Not the Virtue but hey, it's a pop item anyway >_>).
Most of the weapons are toys anyway leaving us with the torques. These things scream MELEE ONRY. They give 2 Combat Skills +7 and 1 stat +5. So of course, no mage is ever going to touch these things unless they have a melee job levelled up. So we move onto the capes. These drop from the 3 Ix'Aern mobs needed to pop Tier II jailers. There's a BLM cape, a RDM cape and a SMN/NIN/BRD cape. WHM doesn't actually get one, because we all know Divine and Healing magic skill don't do anything worth taking over 5 Enfeebling skill for a RDM.
So, take a step back and look what we have. Each job has 2 drops in Sea (Exceptions: NIN has 3, BLM has 4 and RDM 3) that they can ever hope to actually get. Each of these drops is a 10% drop rate and some of the enemys needed to drop the items take over a month to pop.
Compare this to Sky. Each Job gets at least 3 potential drops (BLM get the ass end of the stick here, Zenith Mitts are basically it :/) as well as money drops. Most linkshells can knock out all the Guards and Kirin in a weekend and are garunteed at least a few good drops.
Move onto the CoP Wyrms. Again, they're much fucking harder than the 3 kings, but drop absolute shit. Heralds Gaiters are nice, but they can't touch a Koeing Body or a Dalmatica. Hell, they don't drop anything that even compares to Fafhogg's drop pool.
Did I mention how boring Sea actually is?
Sure, it looks nice. But that's it. Spend 2 hours there and you will see the same corridors repeated over and over in the same monotonous way. Same mobs, same walls, same fucking rooms. Give us some fucking variety.

I got bored, so hey, I thought I'd start one of these. I guess it's just gonna be for FFXI-related stuff. Also, some guy used Italax as a name, pisses me off...
Ah well, finally got this thing set-up so I don't vomit when I look at it. I'll get some funny stories and pics for you tomorrow, can't be fucking bothered to do limbus tonight.
